The current bout of load shedding is related to inadequate national energy supply to meet demand. This is mainly due to a large amount of unplanned maintenance required at Eskom’s aging coal-fired power stations.

Unfortunately, we have no control over the length of interruptions or the times at which they occur, as we remain at the behest of the government.

We have Inverters that power bathroom lights in the room, Wi-Fi & The Main Floor fully.

Water will also be available at all times unless the City does maintenance or leaks occur.

We advise that you charge your electronic devices fully before the scheduled power outage to ensure you have uninterrupted access to them.

If they are not charged in time you can bring them to reception to be charged.

Torches can also be found in all rooms.

We would like to inform you that a crane has recently been erected two roads below Compass House. While it is too far away to cause any noise disturbance, it is visible from the property due to our elevated position on the cliff. The crane moves regularly and does not create any permanent obstruction, but we wish to share this information—as well as the attached photos—for your awareness and peace of mind. Water Outages

On rare occasions, unexpected water outages can occur in our area due to issues such as burst pipes. When this happens, we are required to wait for the local council to carry out repairs and restore the connection. While these situations are beyond our control, we want to reassure you that we have strong systems in place to keep your stay comfortable. If an outage occurs:

• We will provide backup water for brushing teeth and other essentials.

• Toilets will remain functional, as we will supply water manually to ensure they can be used normally.

• Our pool will still be available, as it is not affected by temporary outages.

• We will arrange alternative bathing options, so you can refresh comfortably even if the main water supply is interrupted.

• Our team will manage everything seamlessly, keeping you informed while minimizing any inconvenience.

These events are uncommon, but we are fully prepared. Your comfort always remains our priority. We look forward to welcoming you soon!
